TECHNIC VALLEY
Tips 1-6
Tips of their Success brought to you by Joe & Jeff
Technic Valley is the recognized vanguard of machining and has the highest concentration of companies in the world for the machine tool industry. To read about this valley and its foundation go to www.eurotechelite.com. In a recent visit, Joe and Jeff learned some of the tips that help the TECHNIC VALLEY stay efficient, competitive, and profitable and are sharing them below (more to come):
TIP #1 = Double Cone Collets. The double cone collet provides far more gripping by clamping on both ends of the bar instead of one. This stabilization gives less vibrations, better parts finish and improved tool life. Almost all 800 Eurotech machines in the Technic Valley utilize double cone collets.*Eurotech now stocks double cone collets in 64th sizes.
TIP #2 = Top Barfeed. With a Top barfeed your changeover time goes
from 45 min. to less than 2 min…no channel guides and no spindle liners. The Top bar feed offers zero
second change-over time, zero additional costs for extra channel guides or
blocks, automatic PLC adjustable guide channels that adjust to the bar stock
diameter. Silent running, reliability, rigidity, and rapid change-over time!

· Faster cycle times
· Quick set up
· Easy processing
ClearShift
allows interference free, simultaneous machining. The ClearShift
sub-spindle features 2-axis movement (longitudinal and transversal); and
is offset from the main spindle eliminating interference problems between
the two turrets and improves cycle times and allows safer, simpler and
faster set-up times. Both turrets can machine on main or sub-spindle.

Tip #5 = Lights Out Innovations
CNC Lathe Accumulator
· It doesn’t call in sick and never asks for a raise.
· Run your CNC lathes completely unattended for hours at a time.
· Very competitive pricing. It typically pays for itself within a few weeks.
The CNC Lathe Accumulator is adjustable for any height turning center. It has a 36” table with a removable top to corral parts in the center of the table, castors to allow movement to proper position or to other machines as needed, as well as adjustable height by screw. In addition it also features speed control, heavy gauge steel construction, lined with soft material to protect finished parts, 110 plug standard.

Technic Valley Tip #6: Unattended Systems…Fast…Right Machine for the Job!
Accurate Machine: low thermal
growth
Due to the high cost of living and the high cost of labor (3x times than US), Europe’s Technic Valley cannot afford to compete with a machine that isn’t accurate, i.e., they can’t afford to chase tolerances. It is imperative that they have a machine that offers the least amount of thermal growth; a machine that gives them the ability to run longer unattended while maintaining their part tolerance. An accurate machine with low thermal growth = Eurotech dual turret/dual spindle machine with Y-axis; depending on conditions, thermal growth variance in a 24 hour period is .0002 to .0006. No machine beats it!
How does Eurotech do it? Experience of
over 50 years of building turning centers… Eurotech introduced
the first sub-spindle machine at the EMO show in 1971. Today they build an
extremely advanced casting design coupled with Heidenhain scales in most axes,
resulting in superior performance in consistent accuracy.
